Michele at A Small Victory has challenged Dean Esmay to a blogfight-alliance-building-contest-thing that's not really a fight at all because it's all for charity anyway. I'm joining Michele's cadre because, I read her more and well, she basically lives around the corner here on L.I.
So here's the deal. Spirit of America is raising money to fund a U.S. Marine-built television station in Iraq to counteract the poison of Al-Jezeera and the other Arab stations that present the news as American Atrocities All Day, Everyday. If you hit the link, you'll see why this is really important. Perhaps the most valid criticism of the Bush administration's management of the war is their failure to get a TV station up and running that portrayed our true intentions. That's why you can't always count on government and sometimes you just have to Send in the Marines.
The title of this post refers to the fact that Michele and Dean are working with Spirit of America to work out a way to track which "alliance" donates the most money. Michele says this should be ready by Monday so you'll have the weekend to scrounge up some change and make a donation next week.
I'll put up a new post once they work out the details.
Strong Island in the house!
Err...I didn't just say that. I swear.
I just read the story of how your blog was named. I love it.
